In many cases, new parents or guardians have to put Vaseline on a regular gauze pad before every diaper change. This is really inconvenient and takes up a lot of time each day. - To fix these problems, Joy Crown Medical developed a specialized Circumcision Wound Dressing in 2022, utilizing a softer non-adherent substrate and increased mass petrolatum impregnation. This Circumcision Care Dressing is designed to reduce adhesion between the dressing and the wound area, provide comfort during dressing changes, and maintain a moist healing environment post-circumcision.
This Circumcision Care Petrolatum Gauze Dressing is suitable for neonates, children, and clinical use in the North American market, providing a more practical alternative to traditional Vaseline gauze products.
What Is a Circumcision Wound Dressing?
- Traditional petroleum jelly gauze, made of soaking Leno gauze with a small amount of petroleum jelly, is suitable for minor burns, scalds, or cuts. However, for circumcision surgery or post circumcision care, ordinary Vaseline gauze cannot meet their needs because the petroleum jelly content is too low. This can lead to postoperative wound adhesion and insufficient moisture to promote healing. Furthermore, Leno gauze is very thin, lacks of softness and absorbency, which cannot effectively wrap the wound after circumcision.
- To effectively address the urgent needs of circumcision surgery and its aftercare, Joy Crown Medical, after two years of research and development, successfully developed the Circumcision Care Dressing. It consists of an ultra-thick, highly absorbent, special non-adherent structure fabric, impregnated with a large amount of 100% white petroleum jelly and wrapped in a transparent medical film. Each Circumcision Care Wound Dressing is sealed in a special paper-aluminum composite bag and sterilized by GAMMA. It is mainly used on Newborn and Pediatric Circumcision. It belongs to Class IIa Medical Device.
